Nice piece! The French Oceania, Polynesia, and Comoros pics are fun as well. Inexpensive and readily found in high grade.

They're really an easy type set to fill out quickly. And nice designs (as is typical with the French image ) and readily come in high grade at low prices. I put together a type set of the 1 franc aluminum pieces a while back, I think all that's left is to get the scarce Togo piece.

Here's a link to a Virtual Type Set on French aluminum coins that ran a while ago, several colonial pieces in there image
  • Dan - I really like the Comores design!!!

Eric - Thanks for the link - I found these Togo coins in a junk bin - how about that!!!

Thanks for the pics Shep! image

I actually have one of those, the 1 franc I think. And the 2F from Cameroon. But the one I need for my type set is the later, 1948, aluminum 1F from Togo... its the only one of the aluminum series that runs around $40 in UNC!

The French Oceania pieces are really neat to collect. I have a few in AU or so. Dirt cheap too, my most expensive was like $1.
WTB: Eric Plunk cards, jersey (signed or unsigned), and autographs. Basically anything related to him

Positive BST: WhiteThunder (x2), Ajaan, onefasttalon, mirabela, Wizard1, cucamongacoin, mccardguy1
