USPS Baseball Slugger Stamps

I was in the post office and I saw they were selling these, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, etc. I think they were issued in July 2006. Are they limted by the USPS in how many they printed? In what form should I collect these, i.e, raw form? Any appreciation potential? Thanks. I am a novice on stamps and don't know didly.

  • I have a cover and picture combination with Roger Clemens from 2004 when he retired ( he did come back this year). I don't know if it will increase in value, but I like it. If you like the stamps then collect them. I think sheets and blocks are cool but how you collect them is a personal decision. There is a market for modern stamps, especially famous people and icons. Your not going to make thousands or even hundreds of dollars but you can make a profit.
Would love to see a picture if you do decide to collect them.
  • A very small profit,if any, especially on current stamps still available at the P.O. As time goes by though and the stamps becom harder to find you can make a little profit.
