Do you think this could be an adjustment mark?

There is a large mark on the wrist and right below on the sash. Do you think it could be adjustment marks?

  • I don't think so either. Adjustment marks are normally at the edge of the coin.

    Planchet looks to be clipped and coin may have been struck multiple times. These do not have the appearance of adjustment marks to me either. Adjustment marks are also to the planchet and many times show up in areas where metal flow after strike has not been sufficient to "fill" the defects caused by such. The closeup seems comfirmatory of this.

    Thanks for looking and the opinions. I had always thought it to be damage but was hoping I was wrong.
