I hate the Yankees, but wouldn't call it "backing into the playoffs." The Yankees are just percentage points behind the Mets for the best record in baseball...that's not from backing-in. But I agree with your premise, the Yankees suck (even though they play good baseball).

How did they back into the playoffs... To lock up a spot this early deserves props even though most of us hate them....


Wouldn't call backing in, Backing in is when SD wins the wildcard or NL west on the last night of the season due to someone losing.

I freakin hate the Yankees but my hats off to them for staying consistent throughout all their injuries. Their younger players really stepped up for them. I (Hope) dont see them winning it all this year though.
