Seller's MIA, Paypal gave me my $ back, but I also have the cards...

I find myself in an interesting situation. I paid via paypal for a buy-it-now auction several months ago. It was for a grouping of vintage commons ($35 total). They looked pretty nice from the scan, and were described as "nm or better". Anyways I went for it. The cards show up with writing on their backs and creases that didn't show up in the scans. Wonderful. I asked for a refund, but the seller ignored me, and seemed to drop off the face of the earth (no more e-bay activity). I filed a claim with Paypal, and since he didn't respond, they automatically found in my favor and got me my money back. Now I have the money and the cards, and paypal's done, but the seller is still MIA.

Should I bother with delivery confirmation when I send the cards back, or just send them back and forget about it?

I think you've done your part. Unless the seller contacts you and asks you to return them, it sounds like they're not even worth the cost of postage, just hang onto them for a couple more weeks and see if seller contacts you, otherwise, I'd say they're yours.
  • I say keep em. Or return em. Either way...... Glad I could help.

I say send them back. It will only cost a few bucks at the most. No delivery confirmation though. Your conscience will be clear.

Sounds like the Seller knows these items are pure garbage and most likely doesn't want them back at all! image

I have an even stranger situation - I won a lot of Play Ball lower grade PSA cards. When they arrived, there was also another of the seller's lots in the package which didn't sell (lower grade PSA 1956 Topps). I emailed the seller to PayPal me a couple bucks for shipping, but it has been almost 2 weeks without a response (or money showing up in my PayPal account).

I have included extras like that before without charginf the buyer.

His opening bid was about $50 for them, and their combined SMR is at least that. Not the sort of extra people typically put in with a lot that sold at opening bid of $80.
