<< <i>so what price level will these sets achieve over the next couple of years? Any educated guesses? >>
I think they'll eventually cool off... right now they are hot because of the Gold Buffalos... Just 4 months ago, they were bidding $125 for the Unc and $150 for the Proof... now they are $200ish and $235ish...

I was thinking the same thing George. Makes me think I should sell mine (and rebuy later). My mom bought the set when they came out and gave them to me last year. I really don't like the buffalos (too many coin designs with them on it) and was just keeping for my son. But, if I can make a nice profit, and potentially buy them back for less for him later, then he has extra money for different coins or for his bank account (college education).
Hmmmm

Seems like a good strategy to me. At a half million of these, few other modern commem dollars trade for the same price or more-and those that do were minted in significantly smaller numbers.
The Jackie Robinson dollar is readily available for less than $100 in uncirc and proof-and it had 1/6th the uncirc and less than 40% of the proof numbers compared with the buffs. It isn't folks assembling a complete set of modern commems who are driving up the price of Buffs, that's for sure...
