And as rich as you are,
it's much better by far,

<< <i>Is Honesdale in central or eastern PA? I'm in SW PA and not familiar with the town. We have the PAN show coming up in Oct. - any better description as to what to look for? >>
Northeast. It's near Scranton.

No better description that I am aware of.
I have the Police in here all the time looking for stolen coin collection's...
The biggest problem is, that the victim usually has no clue of what was taken...
Givin this discription...." Stolen were $6,000 worth of collectible commemorative coins, mint sets, silver bars, bicentennial notes, sterling silver, Franklin half-dollar coins, state coins and other collectible items."...
Grouping's of this sort or bought and liquidated every day, there are no identifiable item listed....
Every single person in this forum can probably state they have the above collection....
The last time an Officer came in, requesting to see the Halve's that I bout last week, I brought him out a couple coffeee can's
full of Barber's, Walker's, Franklin's, 64 Kennedy, and Clad's....
He asked, How he was supposed to pick stoken coin's out of this mess, and I responded, Exactly !?!....
He left and has not been back yet...
Collector's really need to take some responsibility and do a little inventory work....
At lease take note's of what they actually own... Give us something to work with...
We do not want to buy stolen coin's, not at all... But, when a 25 year old man comes in with a small box full of old silver,
and say's his dad left it to him, Just how much 3rd defree should I have to give him ?
P.s., Michigan, are you a Law man ?, You seem to post a lot of "Stolen Report's"... just curiuos.....

This describes what just about everyone sells me everyday....The individual really should be a little more descriptive if they intend to get anything back.
<< <i>This is an unfortunate problem that will never go away....

Not a lawman. I just spot these things in the news and bring them to peoples attention in the hope
that the coins can be recovered.
My summer home is in Beach Lake about 7 miles away.....This is the most northeastern part of the Poconos, near the NY border
I havent been there, but there is a coin club that meets once a month on Main st. in Honesdale. I wonder if any of the members were affected.
Hopefully, they will be recovered....Odds are that some local yocal cashed it in for 100 bucks to buy some Yeungling...
Thx for the info Michigan

Everyone just needs to buy a safe and put all their valuables there or get a box from the bank.
