Need to hear from Mickey Mantle collectors

Hi Everyone

I am considering the purchase of a 1969 (White Letter last name) Mickey Mantle card.

But with Mantle cards, they all seem to be expensive & collectible !

The card i would be getting is a PSA 6 (no qualifiers). ($950.00 range)

Heres the very difficult question i`m really asking,,, for the money,,, would i be wiser to get another (year/grade) mantle for that same amount ??

I know, there are many variables. But i trust you know what i`m getting at.

I'd go for a different year in higher grade. There's nothing that special about the white letter card in a PSA 6 for that kind of money unless you want it for a set of something like that. For $950, you can get a very nice PSA 8 from another year, like 1961 or 1964.

yeah get a 60 or 61, maybe even a 50s one.

Ditto. You can get a nice 1969 PSA 6 yellow letter for the 125.00 range. The centering won't be great, but its a 6. There a white letter 6 with a ridiculous 2,500.00 price tag on it sitting in an Ebay store, but I'm sure that wont be going anywhere ever.
If you want to get up into the 900.00 range, be patient. There are a ton of them out there and some do fall through the cracks sometimes at a really decent price. Follow some around for awhile and get a feel for what range they are going for and which one you'd like to own..
