Looking to buy sovereigns

Can anyone recommend a reliable source of gold sovereigns, preferably US based to save shipping costs. I want to choose the monarch / mint mark but I am not too fussed on specific date as I would like to build a type set.

You might want to try Jonathon Kern, who has mainly US, and also has quite a few British sovs. etc. Condition will affect price also! He advertises in Coin World so give a call. I have got a few odd silver and copper bits at very good prices there, and even a bit of gold every now and then.

Northeast Numismatics carries sovereigns as does Charles shortt who has an extensive stock(ebay handle goldcoin@charter.net

I'm just about finished with my type set from George to Elizabeth all seven mints about 32 pieces.

  • Just ordered a coin from http://www.steinbergs.com, will fill a hole in collection just nicely.

Never dealt with them before, has anyone else ?

Steinbergs is top notch cruzi, nothing to worry about. World gold specialists for decades, excellent customer service, reasonable prices. Several members ,including me, have done business with them. I just wish that I had bought some more Greek gems from them when I still had the chance.
