1970 Small/Large Date Differences

I have two 1970 Mint Sets that I purchased recently.
I am curious as to how to differentiate between the small and the large dates on the Lincoln cents?

Pictures would be great.

Thanks,

Chris

    Check Ken Potter's site: www.koinpro.com

There are pictures of the differences.

The easiest way for me is to look at the lower loop of the "9". If it is nearly horizontal
then it's the small date and if it points down toward the mint mark then it's a large date.

Thanks, Doug, for the informative link.
I think I have it now. Low 7 on the date means Large Date, along with a strong LIBERTY strike.

    Thanks,

For me, the weak LIBERTY is the easiest way to identify the small date.

Same here. While it's not the way to actually tell if it's a small date, it is one of the diagnostics that will help you get closer.
