Well, I have been going over the merits of using credit cards for paypal transactions in answers to a few threads lately and it looks like I will be taking advantage of it. I won two auctions recently totaling $373 and change. The seller was to ship the cards priority mail from New Orleans to me in Saint Petersburg Fl. That would only take two to three days max.
I emailed him to inquire about whether the cards were shipped yet and did not get a response. I then emailed four other winners of his auctions and they too have not received anything. One of them told me that he tried to pay via paypal for the auction he won and the buyer is no longer accepting payments. I had a strange feeling about this seller because he put a "post it note" in the auction next to the cards to "show that he actually has the cards". That struck me as weird.
I already filed a claim through paypal this mourning and right away paypal told me the buyer is unable to respond. I assume that means he already closed his account. I will go through paypal to get my funds back but knowing I used my credit card just in case paypal cant take care of it for me makes me feel better.
The weird thing about this transaction is that I googled the sellers name "Christopher Ruiz-Gardner" and came up with a bunch of hits. I dont know if he stole someones name or this is actually him. A pre-med student from Las Vegas and some kind of "hero" in the community. Strange to say the least
Heres the google link dirtbag
Here is the sellers name to go on everyones list "jordansandemmitt"
Heres the auction link Emmitt
