Choosing/Preparing a Sub . . .

What is most important to you in choosing which cards you submit to PSA?

Centering
Corners
Edges
Surface/Gloss

I used to be big on centering, but after seing several not-so-well-centered, high-grade examples on this site and eBay, I'm not so sure anymore.

It depends, in part, on if it is a modern vs. vintage, super refractor vs. big-bordered card.

But, in general, I would say that PSA's two biggest priorities are corners and centering.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Since one of my keener pleasures in life involves submitting cards that I a) have no intention of keeping for collectible value, and b) have almost no chance of recouping the grading fee from when I try to sell them, I'm at the point where I just don't submit anything if I can see any flaw whatsoever on the card. If it's centered about 60/40 or better and it looks otherwise perfect I'll send it in. Otherwise, as David Hume would say, I 'consign it to the flames'.

I prefer steak and cheese but if I am feeling saucy I like a meatball sub. image

Actually what Boopotts said ( I just don't submit anything if I can see any flaw whatsoever on the card ) Except I would get them graded to keep not sell.

    Matt
