What's it worth? Guide if I remember correctly (PCGS guide) says $85. Can someone tell me CDN on this coin, or what one of you guys would be willing to pay? Thanks!
For $75 you did just fine. It looks to be a very nice coin. It is a shame about that hit on the rim but what do you expect for a coin that did its job in commerce.
As far as hits on rims go, that ain't nuthin. Ideally there'd be no rim hit at all, but it doesn't really affect the desirability of this particular coin. Now if it were a brand-new, bright hit - that'd be another thing.
Coin has a great original look. For $75.00 you did just fine. I bought a fine 1810 about two years ago and paid $50.00. The series has appreciated some in most circulated grades. The Bust halves are not scarce by any means, but they are very popular, and for the age, even non collectors get a real kick out of the old bust coinage.
The owner before me paid $130.00, but then I think he thought he got ripped, off, so he offered it to me for $75 and I pounced on it. Is that on the reverse a rim nick? I've posted this across the street dozens of times, and nobody has ever said there was a single rim nick on it. I thought it was something else, I really wasn't sure what it was. Good to finally know. Thanks guys for all your help!
