I saw this on the web. It is the 1972 Dodge Charger that Roberto won for his 1971 World Series MVP performance.




Also, Topps custom made supersize examples of each of his baseball cards for the family back in 1998.


Lastly, a quote from his official site:

"New Year's Eve, December 31, 1997 marked the 25th Anniversary of a tragic plane crash. The plane was taking medical, food and clothing supplies to earthquake stricken Nicaragua. Vera and friends begged him not to take the trip (poor weather and an unstable cargo plane) but Roberto was determined. He was infuriated that the previous supplies had not made it to the victims. Roberto was going to personally see to it that the victims received the much needed supplies."


This was a stand up human being! And surely wasn't worried about celebrating new years eve celebrity style.

My father had that same charger, except in blue, I loved that car as a child !

Is that photo of the Charger an original one with Roberto or taken recently with the current owner? It's hard to see the detail in the photo.

The picture of the Charger is a recent photo with the curator of the museum that houses the car. It appears that the car has hardly been driven.
