I think a WOW and a DOUBLE WOW is pretty good
<< <i>How did I do? >>
Did you want the straight scoop, or happy talk?

<< <i>Is that 1966 50C MS67 as nice as I think it might be? >>
Yeah, it's HUGE. Probably $1500 to $2000.

<< <i>Nice!! It cost me $4.50 a few weeks ago. >>
Don't tell them where you got it, okay ?
<< <i>Nice!! It cost me $4.50 a few weeks ago. >>
ok, that makes it a rip
oh yeah.... you SUCK!!!
<< <i>I hope its not an SMS. I bought it by itself and it was not labeled SMS. How can you tell? >>
Sometimes you really can't. Some SMS coins are obvious because they have very prooflike qualities, but many later strikes can look just like business strikes. The PCGS number on your submission - 6709 - indicates business strike. The SMS coin would be 6846. Did you record it as a business strike on the submission form?
PCGS tends to err on the side of caution with these coins, so if they holdered it as a business strike they'd be very convinced that it is.
<< <i>i`m sure they can tell the difference >>
I wish that were actually the case, but I've seen too many that they've screwed up.

<< <i>If I recall correctly it has a little rainbow tone towards the top of the obverse. >>
Toning on these helps convince the graders that it's a business strike. In fact, many of the 1965 to 1967 kennedys in business strike holders at MS66 and above are toned.

<< <i>Im still not sure how PCGS could id a SMS coin over a poorly struck coin with an older die. Is this truly something I should be worried about or is it just a product of nay sayers out there? >>
I'd say : "flip it" and disregard all feelings.
What, no MS70 Lincoln cent?!
Jack
Sounds like great advice, you must already have an offer on it

It is a real problem. So much so that many have given up submitting business strikes for fear of the "SMS Curse".
and they're cold.

That is ironic. My first was alo 30% BB'd. This was my first submission without a BB. I hope this means im getting a better eye.
