Grades popped

I just received more Hostess panels graded. I am really happy about the Mike Schmidt panels. The 1975 came back a PSA 10 (highest graded) and the 1976 came back a 9 (also the highest graded). Those were both originally graded PSA 8's. I broke them both out and did a better job on the cutting around the lines. These were two of the original Hostess panels I ever submitted and admittedly did not do as good of a job as I could have. The 1977 panels with Stargell and Niekro are the first ever graded.

Very nice grades. I keep looking for Perez panels in nice shape and have had a hard time finding them.

I have a 1975 panel with Perez in a PSA 9 that is in my Reds collection. I have been looking for a 1976 Perez panel that would grade out a 9.

    Congratulations!

And if you are ever looking to sell or trade any of your vast "really cool" Mike Schmidt items, please let me know-

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Thanks Marc. You will be the first to know if I ever decide to get rid of any of my Mike Schmidt items.

  • Great results, Phil! You have definitely mastered the art of cutting panels to PSA specs. I still have several dozen complete Hostess boxes that i need to go through to figure out which ones to grade. I still can't believe you use a swing-arm paper cutter. I have never been able to get a straight cut from any of those office relics.

Marc, among the Hostess boxes i have are several '75 Schmidt panels. I'll look them over to see if anything is worthy of cutting out for submission. If i recall correctly, several of the Schmidt boxes had the box's fold line aligned so that it fell within the panel (usually around the dotted line). LMK if you'd be interested in any Schmidt panels or the boxes.
