Poll: I assume ANR/Stack’s will have two chief photographers on staff, but which picture do you pre

Personally, I think that the best pictures in the auction business are at ANR and Stack’s. Therefore, with the merger of the two firms, there is very little risk that their photographs will go down the tubes. Given the volume of coins that the newly merged firm will deal with, I am sure that they will have a need for more than one photographer on staff. If there is a little head to head competition between the fleet-of-foot ANR photography department, and the “established” Stack’s photography department (which may still take pictures using a daguerreotype), which picture do you prefer? The first is ANR, and the second is Stack’s.

As for the pictures, it's not the same coin so I would have trouble comparing.

It makes no difference to me that the pictures are not of the same coins. It is clear that ANR's photos run circles around Stack's. It looks like Stacks photo is a drawing to me.

Well, yes I do like the ANR picture better, but having never seen the coins I could also like the ANR coin better.

They could both be nice accurate images, for all I know.

What Stack's pictures have you been looking at? Their pics (IMO) leave A LOT to be desired when compared to the actual coin.

Tough to make a comparison. To me the "better" photo may not accurately depict the coin. In the pair of foriegn coins, the first is a better photo, but I feel the second may be more closely represent the coin.
