1981 SBA Type 2 picture request - a forum member's pic.
I've seen the pictures provided at smalldollars.com about the '81 Type 2, but I was wondering if any forum members have a picture they've taken of an '81 Type 2 that they could post.
Added: I've got an '81 SBA here that I've been staring at for a half hour with a 7X loupe, and I just can't confirm it's a Type 1. I find that the '79 Type 2 is very easy to spot, but the '81 is much more difficult. I'll post a picture, probably tomorrow, as soon as I can get an image of it, but until then I was hoping someone could show one of theirs to compare to.
Like I mentioned, I've looked at the pictures many times on smalldollars.com, but I'm no closer to making a confirmation. This one in my hand has the bulbous serifs and very clear round center loops compared to other '81 SBAs I have, and looks a bit different, but I can't tell if what I'm seeing might just be a difference in minting pressure. The '81 Type 2 at smalldollars looks kind of squished and stretched compared to the Type 1.
