My First Trey

Been wanting one of these literally all my life (well, since I was 8 or so). Finally pulled the trigger on one:

There was an NGC 58 in the same auction that went for somewhat more, and a PCGS 58 that went for a lot more. I think I'll be happy with mine...

Not much for a while -- got to let my funds refill. I'm two coins short of my modern commemorative collection, so if either of those showed up for sale I'd find the money, but everything else will probably be on hold for a while.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I think Longacre's Indian Princess is one of the greatest designs in the entire U.S. catalogue - it combines the spirit of Liberty with the indigenous dichotomy of the continent to create something truly American. I like St. Gauden's $10.00 design for the same reason, but to give credit where credit is due, Longacre thought of it first with the $3.00 coin (so far as I know.)
A $3.00 gold is a coin I have wanted for a long time also - in fact I recently I purchased a Type 3 gold dollar in order to at least include the portrait in my collection until I can afford one - in addition, it is nice to live vicariously through you and enjoy your lovely 1854!
Cheers -

I too believe there are some bargains lurking in ANACS holders.
