Eliminating a collection

I have tons of cards (basketball, football, baseball) I collected from 1985 to 1996 and I do not know what to do with them. How do you determine what is worth having graded. I really need the space at home. Any suggestions?

The two things you will need are a SMR guide to give you an idea of what stuff is selling for and a loop to see what condition each card is in before sending it in for grading. You can also search Ebay completed auctions to gauge what is hot and not. It may be alot of work, but that is probably the best way to get top dollar for what you have.

I'm sure the more experienced collectors on this board could give you some more ideas. Those are just what popped into my head. image
    Looking for Carl Willey items.
  • Thanks for your response. What does it take to make a PSA 10? Would there be any value in buying some graded cards to learn from?

  • Thats the solution. A weeenie roast. Those cards would make some colorful flames.
  • Any 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken's in there?

  • Is that the one with the profanity on the bat? I never did get the famous Ripkin card but I have several other Ripkin cards from other years.
