1912 S Liberty Nickel - Bought as a kid.

I was lucky enough to buy this nickel as a kid by going through a dealers "box-o-crap" as I was putting together a date run. That was about 40 years ago. Until this year I didn't even know it was an "s" until I was revisiting my old stuff. Since I probably paid $ 0.25 or so for it..... Can I still call it a RIP? This went in on my first PCGS submission. Yoo Hoo

Looks great - a very appealing key date! Edit to say, I have many fond memories of going through dealers' "cheapo" boxes as a kid. Quite a lot of the fun, for me, was ties up in that. Buffalo bins, indian heads, etc....

If I recall correctly, my "old" dealer was known to "salt" the bins right before I was to go through them - or maybe I was just lucky with that '26-S Buffalo.

Passed away now, but I have many fond memories of him and that shop as well.

One of my favorite key coins. It can still be had without breaking the bank. Very undervalued coin up into a couple a years ago. I just bought one in fine for my Dansco album, but did'nt get it for nowhere near the deal you did. Nice coin .
