After week 2, if you had to pick the NFL team that looks the best

Which would it be and why?

After two weeks, the Bears look pretty good. Shut out the Packers last week (24-0) and put a hurt on the Lions today (34-7). Offensive line is solid, defense is superb, and Grossman had 4 TD's today.

Sure, some may say the schedule is weak thus far, but both wins were divisional and they took advantage of it.

Agree with Da Bears. They're looking very strong.

The Bears, hands down. Now that they finally have a capable QB, they have a great shot to win the NFC. Just look how well they did last year with no QB.

The bears, while playing well, have played two terrible teams. Let them play a quality opponent.

Same with SD, they have played 2 terrible teams (but dominated in doing so).

    What about Indy or Cincy?

  • The Chargers of course. Need you ask?

Cincy'splayed two week teams so far, as well, and the Colts beat up on the Texans today. No really good team has been really tested yet.

  • Hey hey, certainly not the best in the league but my Niners look like they've finally turned a corner--how about 8 and 8 this year? You never know? Finally a running game that looks like it's working and the offense is actually MOVING THE BALL FORWARDS--WOW!
It's certainly not the 1980's all over again, but I might have finally have something to smile about since Steve Young retired.

I think Cinci is plenty tough... I think they have a team that could easily win the Super Bowl if their big 3 (Palmer, Johnson & Johnson) stay healthy. And they haven't even activated Houshmandzadeh yet.

I don't follow the AFC as closely as the NFC so I'll just comment on the NFC. Right now the Bears look very tough. Their D is awesome and if Grossman just becomes a half-decent quarterback they are going to be very tough this season.

I have to think that if Palmer stays healthy that Cincy look unstoppable.

Rudi had another huge day, and TJ and Chad are a great combo of receivers.

I wasn't sure if Palmer would come back 100% - looks like he did. The Bengals look tough as a result, but I'm most impressed with the Chargers. A lot will depend on Rivers having a decent season as a rookie, but with LT and that defense they can go far.

  • The Bears and Ravens, both have looked very strong in the first two weeks. Of course, can't forget the Patriots image

I actually agree with Axtell on this one. I would also throw the Bears into the mix as a very close second best team -- we'll see, as Detroit and Green Bay aren't exactly that (any) good.

  • We'll find out how good Cincy will be this week. Going in to Pittsburgh as beat up as they are right now will be a true test.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

  • The Bears have the most "balanced" team as far as Off/Def ----- so far.

Indy also looks good, of course.

The Colts didn't impress me against the Giants. Showed a lot of weakness on the ground.

Then they beat the Texans. image

Right now I think the Bears and the Chargers are the top teams.

  • San Diego, although they didn't play that great of teams...they still looked solid both on offense and defense.

After Monday night, you might have to add Jacksonville to this list.

The Bengals defense is their weakness that could prevent them from going deep into the playoffs if they make it that far. I kind of liken them to the Dan Fouts era chargers. They have a high powered offense but until they build up their D, they won't win in January.

The Bengals remind me alot of the Chiefs from 2-3 years ago. They may cruise through the regular season, although I think they have a pretty rough schedule, but they will probably falter early in the playoffs due to their defense. The last few years has proved that you can't get through the playoffs with a weak defense.

I love it, Bears beat up on two awful teams and people are saying they are headed to the Super Bowl, meanwhile the Jags
knock off Dallas who many people picked to go to the super bowl, and Pittsburg who many people also picked to go back, and
they get not even a mention here. This forum is cleary not tuned into football. I think what we have here is a bunch of
Bears fans, too scare to show up at the beginning of the year, now trying to jump the bandwagon. Bucs are still goin to
    win it all.

    Thanks

    gotta agree with Jags...

they shut my steelers down bigtime.
  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,694 ✭✭✭✭✭
Jags are for real. If Fred Taylor stays healthy and Mack Jones continues to produce, this team reminds me of the Ravens 2000 SB championship team.

I agree as well. I just haven't made a list because I think it's meaningless at this point in the season. There are playoff teams to be that are currently 0-2 or 1-1 and there are probably teams awaiting a high draft pick that are currently sitting at 2-0.

Let's have this discussion after at least 6 games.
