In Auction VAMs -- High Grades

VAM folks who need registry pieces might check out today's (Sunday) Teletrade auction. I consigned a bunch of them, some at the top of the census, that were my duplicates. They are attributed on the tags and registry ready. Some PCGS and some NGC. Also an unattributed 1885-S VAM-7A (the R-6 key of the date) in PCGS 62 (lot 1698). More images are available for someof them at my website.
Highlights are:
Lot 1548: 1878 VAM-17 NGC 65 pop 3 with one better at 66.
Lot 1549: 1878 VAM-21 NGC 63 pop 6 with one better at 64.
Lot 1543: 1878 VAM-39A NGC 62, richly golden toned reverse and sleeper 7/8 TF VAM.
Lot 1545: 1878 VAM-82 NGC 64 pop 1 and none higher.
Lot 1544: 1878 VAM-83 NGC 63 pop 12 with two 64 higher.
Lot 1575: 1880 VAM-11 PCGS 63 a higher premium Hot-50 coin.
Lot 1637: 1882-O/O VAM-7 PCGS 64 pop 14 with only one (mine) finer by a point. How many Top-100 collectors are out there to share the 14 certified PCGS 64 pieces?
Lot 1656: 1884 VAM-2A NGC 63 a neat "E" clash variety that I expect to lose half of the money I have in it on. There are those coins here and there.
Lot 1677: 1884-O/O VAM-6 NGC 63DPL an absolutely wonderful black and white cameo that presents great for the grade.
Lot 1698: 1885-S VAM-7A PCGS 62 the R-6 key variety for this semikey date in a relatively affordable grade. The VAM-7A features a doubled date and a chip/flake on the left wreath next to the NI of UNITED. I have some others in higher grades if anyone wants to spend more money.
Lot 1752: 1890-O VAM-10 NGC 63 the popular Hot-50 Comet variety with a pop of 3 and only 2 finer by one point.
Lot 1765: 1893 VAM-4 NGC 53 difficult doubled stars Top-100 variety. NGC only has graded two MS pieces (MS60 and MS62). It was my set piece while I waited for PCGS to start up their attribution program so I could get my MS63 attributed.
Lot 1783: 1897 VAM-6A PCGS 65 these Top-100 pitted reverses can be found but are difficult at the gem level. You can look up the pops but there are only a handful at 65 and the few higher are only by a point.
Lot 1841: 1921 Peace VAM-3 NGC 62 Top-50 rarity. Now I almost don't want to sell this as I know it has tremendous potential. I have a gem in my set. Still there are only 15 total graded at NGC! About the same number at PCGS and I know some of them are crossovers without tag returns. There are not many to go around and fewer that are registry ready like this one. To top it off, the lustre is great on the piece. It is among the 14 tough VAMs of the Top-50 set cited in the latest VAMview. Also noteworthy in VAMview is that the only recorded sale of one of these for the past three quarters was a raw AU.
Opportunity knocks and not for long. Hope these make it into some great sets. There are some more I have up there at TT but these give a good idea of the material. And if you are looking for similar VAMs, let me know as I have plenty of others and am finding more all of the time. (I go through thousands of silver dollars weekly.) If I sell directly, we can save the spread on commissions and avoid a competitive auction. Most of what I have I get attributed but I do have some in unattributed slabs and raw as well.
