Lincoln Cent Varieties

Where can I find a definitive list of the die varieties accepted for the PCGS Registry? For example, the 1909 FS-012 as opposed to the FS-012.1. In addition, a listing of the die varieties that PCGS will or will not slab as such. I've posed the quest to D. Hall in a couple of differnt ways and he didn't respond. I'm inferring that that wasn't the place to ask. Maybe here is? Thanks, Mike

Thanks Stone, they are about Lincolns, not what PCGS will accept for Registrry. An example is a 1922 Weak D, MS63BN. PCGS will not accept it as an uncirculated 1922 cent in any catagory for the 1909-58 w/Varieties Set. Mike

I believe PCGS's inability to list the specific FS designation may have hurt alot of people. I have had numerous email solicitations sent to me regarding the varieites that don't count (i.e. 44 D/S type II, 36 type II etc). I wonder how many people have bought the "other coin" later to find out that's not the one PCGS accepts. Any time PCGS list a variety they should note it specifically by the system in place, be it a VAM, Overton, Snow, Newcomb etc. It can't be that hard!!!

I think our point is missed. It's that, or people realize thefutility of it all. I posted 3 times on the Q&A forum and a direct email to PCGS asking for the information. None of which was answered. Mike

Thanks, you've been great (although competition) it's PCGS. If I were asking stupid questions, then point me in the right direction or just call me stupid. I rephrased the questions and zilch. Nada, nyet. nein, zero. If you ever get the urge to explain your concentration on errors, I love to listen. Thanks again, Mike
