Tax on coins in California

I know from a previous thread there is not tax on purchasing coins in Illinois - what about California - anyone have the quick skinny on that?

There is no state tax on coins if the purchase is $1000.00 or more.

Living in San Diego I know the answer. No tax on invoices over $1,000 and regular sale tax for under $1,000 for residents of the state.
