to incourage history and young collectors should the usa mint do what the canadian mint is doing?

like maybe the usa mint could make a set of NCLT harry potter coins geared at young numismatists

or possibly with egyptian history and artifacts so popular maybe a coin about rulers of the ages starting with king tutimage

generate revenue, show off what the usa mint can do, encourage collecting among new younger collectors and also stimulate a world wide demand for these special issue NCLT coins??

i would put on the back of the king tut coin that steve martin soung just this verse

he was born in bablonina moved to arazonia funky tut!!

i am sure the country of egypt would like it and also generate somegoood will around the world and be fun for kids to collect

but make the coin in copper nickel so many can buy and afford and enjoy them make them proof only and again non circulating legal tender
  • I think the Mint makes enough coins that most people never see or hear of. The best thing the Mint did for encouraging history and young collectors was the State Quarter Series. People get these coins in change and they look different. They require a second look. Then perhaps a quick Google search to learn just what is on that coin.

Same with the Westward Journey Nickels. They look different and people notice.

Everyone gets change during the day, but not everyone goes to the Mint website to check out the latest non-circulating design.

Nice medal but the Suez Canal isn't anywhere close to the great pyramid.
