1975 Mini Help, what is this?

1975 Mini's

I bought these years ago, from a company who said they got them straight from Topps. Anyone know what they are? Are they scarce? Worth anything?

I guess they are part of a color test Topps does from time to time, I dunno.

The card in the bottom right is a regular Topps mini for comparison. All the other 3 have blank backs.

Thanks for any help!
My humble '63 mint registry set, not much, but it's mine!

  • Its a set of progressive proofs made to test the ink before the actual cards were printed. Did they come from Alan Hager?
  • I think so, the name sounds familiar, but it's been a long time ago so I can't be certain. Maybe 15-20 years ago? Are they scarce?

    Thanks

  • Proofs appear on Ebay from time to time and can fetch a pretty penny, esp for something that never actually became a card. There are a lot of people that specialize in collecting proofs, and with the popularity of the 75s make them quite collectable. A complete set would consist of 4 proofs (magenta, cyan, black, and yellow) plus the actual card making a total of 5

If you go to the topps auction site they are always listing proof cards. topps vault

If I remembered how to do it correctly you should be able to click on the link and it will take you to the topps vault.
