Crossovers -- first you don't, then you do

DennisHDennisH Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭✭
OK here's the story:

Back in May I submitted an 1893 Morgan for crossover for a buddy. It was in an ACG-65 holder which, of course, was a joke. image I put down a minimum grade of MS63 (which it actually looked to be.) It didn't cross.

So he said to crack it out and send it in raw. I just got grade results today -- MS63.

What fun this is.
When in doubt, don't.

They may not have trusted the parts of the coin that they couldn't see enough.
Would YOU trust the ACG? Could you be sure there were no dings/problems (just asking as I didn't see the coin)?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I don't trust ACG for anything, but everything I could see looked fine except the stated grade.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • on a big ticket item, they probably wanted to see the edge because of their guarantee

especially on a coin from grading services that they have seen counterfeit and altered coins in
