Pfenning Coins

I'm not really a collector of coins, per se, but I was in Germany last summer and while walking in Munich I found a coin. Its a 10 pfenning coin, dated 1987. While I know its not old, I was just wondering if it was worth anything, especially since its not in circulation.
If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Depending on it's condition, maybe up to 50 cents.

You should keep it as a momento from your trip through Berlin.
    That's priceless.

The modern German coins were overlooked like most moderns but only until the
mid-'70's. After this most of them were saved in more substantial quantities so
there may not be much of high value except for some varieties. German coins are
relatively well made so large premiums are less likely to develop for the gems.

German coins are certainly of great interest but the sort of '87 coin one is likely to
find on a walk are unlikely to ever have substantial value. If you had access to
more they might make a fun collection though.
