With the price of silver at $10.63....what would be the premium on a roll of ASE's

The roll would be worth 212.60......what would be the buying price of a roll of ASE's?

Would $1 a coin over bid be about right? For a total of $232?

I have been watching the rolls lately and just tonight on ebay there were still some being bought between $260 and $300.........

Thanks
Tom

  • depends on the year...96 of course is nutso $ , but 94's and 97's bring premiums.

Also, depending on when the auction ended, silver was up around $11.30 this am, then got hammered by the big boy puppetmasters. They aren't through loading the boat yet.
  • Tulving usually has a very competitive price for selling eagles with high minimum orders. If you can buy low quantities for their price, it is usually a good deal. As of this writing silver eagles are spot +$1.70 per coin, 5000 coin minimum.

If I'm going to buy 5000 coins, they better give me a better deal than that. image

$1 over bid will not even get you a 2006 date, usually $1.50-$2 for recent dates.

apmex.com sells for around $1.80 above spot. Depending on volitility.

After the top of Gold/Silver a few months back, it took a little while for ebay to catch up to the decline.

You could buy a roll at apmex.com for less than they were paying on ebay. Today $248 + delivery.

I think ebay people look at completed auctions and see the previous price and are willing to pay that price eventhough the price of silver has decreased.

  • premium? are u kidding - I would try to pick them up at 95% of melt.

I'm guessing that is one of the reasons why everyone thinks that you are a dork.

Tulving's minimum buy is five hundred coins, not five thousand.

Ugh... my local coin dealer still has SAEs at $16.50! (Unless, of course, you go to sell, then he calls up the latest spot price on his PC)

I picked up a 2006 one on ebay for $13.12 just recently. I needed the 2006 one for my set. I wish I could have paid less, but I do not want to have to buy one when silver runs up again...but now it probably won't!

Just because the spot price drops precipitously, don't expect dealer prices to follow. In general, there should be about a $1 premium over spot for SAEs (shipping extra).
