  • Here is my experience.
Having gotten back into collecting a few years back, with more money than sense, I looked to get the most coins for the money as possible. I found a wholesaler on the web called collectorsinternet and bought a bunch of coins, knowing I was the smart one getting my coins for a fraction what all those crazy folks on ebay and in coin stores were paying.
And I got crap. Tons of it. Worth nothing today, worth nothing tomorrow.
Don't focus on getting wholesale deals cheap. Figure out what you want to collect and buy the best you can afford. You will be much happier later.

That's the hard part. Can't say I've figured it out yet.

    Me either!
So, find good dealers who sell what you like, and form a relationship. Negotiate, find the best price. You can do just fine this way.
Or, call me, I have heaps of really find wholesale coins I'd like to offload cheap!image

Kinda depends on what and why you are buying.
Are you collecting or dealing? Specific coins or bulk quantities? Raw or slabbed? There is no way someone can give you advice on where to buy with the info you've given.

the cheapest place to buy coins is to first deside on a pre 1915 series you want to collect and learn all about the coins

then after 20 years at looking at such coins you can now go out and rank them as you have seen many and most likely the best exaqmples out there be it circ grades gem gradfes gem proof grades wildly monster colored etc.

then you develop a great collector and dealer friendship base contact base

then you go to a huge bourse and meet with them and see what they have develop contac ts and then you go look at dealers inventory and get into there first with your contacts to get the fresh collections and with much looking you will see a true monster coin that is a once in a lifetime killer which the dealer knows is good but does not know or understand the series like you do and it is underpriced you buy it and this is

the example of buying killer monster coins that are underpriced due to not too knowledgable sellers or the series is sleeping

that is the cheapest way to buy coins

buy only good coins in sleeping series with an eye for quality and value opportunity with the intent of collecting long term

If you're in the mindset of only finding a bargain, I'd recommend not buying for a while, and really doing your homework.
