canadian dimes

Can anyone tell me when Canada stopped making silver dimes ? Just opend 4 rolls of US dimes and got 11 Canadians. They dont have the same appearance as clad coins.
Thanks for any help.

I think that the last year for silver circulating dimes in Canada was 1968.

But didn't they have BOTH silver & non-silver dimes that year?image
  • Yes they did. The silver ones are whiter and non-magnetic. 50% silver. Many 1967
dimes are also 50% silver. 1966 and earlier were 80% silver and are worth more
as a result. 1919 and earlier were 92.5% silver and worth a bit more yet. Rare
1969 large date nickel dimes exist as do silver 1969 dimes.
    These are both extremely valuable.

Canadian coins like your dimes are not clad. They are 100% nickel. The plated coins started in 2001.
