Is anyone a member of GAI?

I was just curious if any CU members have joined GAI ? I have a lot of packs I would like to get graded, and am tired of waiting for any new announcements from PSA. I also noticed that PSA won't be grading any rack packs, only cellos and wax packs.
I checked out their web page to see what you get as a member, and have to say I wasnt impressed. For the same CU 99.00 you get:

4 Card Submissions – 2 BUSINESS DAY TURNAROUND $80 Value
Le Bron James Sports Illustrated GAI Graded 9 Trading Card $20 Value
GAI Authenticated Autographed photo of a pro Athlete $35 Value
Mickey Mantle Lenticular Action Flip $10 Value
3 day admission pass to the National $30 Value
Online Order Status check
Online Grade Check

Premier Club Package value $245

So for the money you get 4 submissions (and as you can see it says cards, not packs)
2 day turnaround isnt that important, and the rest of the offering is junk esp because I have no intention to go to the National.

Anyone here a member and is it worth it for the packs, or should I refrain from taking a match to the 99 bucks?

your 2 day turnaround could end up being months, and probably won't include anything other than cards.
PSA is grading packs now, and the first ones should be done in a few weeks. The holder protects the pack much better and is worth the wait.

You shouldn't have to join. I graded a pack with them once and I wasn't (and still am not) a member. You may have to pay a slightly higher fee as a non-member but I don't remember having to do that.
  • I have sent packs. Never joined a club. Card submissions with me have had its moments but with packs (cello and rack) I have yet to complain.

Do you mean you just filled out the submission form and sent them in? I would be scared crapless! What did you put on the customer/deal#?

GAI sucks. Besides the PSA slabbed packs in my opinion will be worth more money than GAI slabbed packs - possibly a lot more money. You're right though in that PSA has kept us waiting for this. Perhaps they just wanted to make sure it got done the "right" way rather than the "GAI way."
  • I agree with that!

I had a customer # from my previous card submissions and use the same # every time. My first submission I left it blank and they assigned me one. Danny Fisher has been real helpful on the phone with questions.

I too received the GAI bulk email... replied to Danny that he probably ruined several clients email accounts. His reply was that he is not too familiar with bulk messaging and "really bricked this one." He's a nice guy, but that's a very lame excuse.
