  • I always liked him in Minny, never understood why they didnt keep the guy. I hope he has a few years left in the tank. Have you seen this kid Tarvaris Jackson on the bench, looks good and who better than Brad to show him the ropes...

I didn't get to watch the game, but it looked to me like all Brad did was lead the team to a win. A 4th quarter drive that was
perfect. Only got sacked once. Man I miss that consistancy! I watched Simms and Bledsoe over the weekend, and they just
didn't know when to chuck it. Brad knows when to throw it away. That makes a huge difference.

How do you all like Tice running the jags offense?

Bill Parcells 2 rings, Gruden 1 ring. Is this some kind of new math I dont know about?

    Matt
  • The fact that Tice isnt here anymore makes us happy. Nice guy, horrible Coach.

I love how Cowboy fans brings up ancient history..I was in college the last time you all picked up rings. Irvin and Aikman have been
in the tv business for years now! Tuna hasn't done ANYTHING with the Cowboys..have you all even made the playoffs?

I didnt say a word about the Cowboys past Superbowl wins. You brought up the fact that Gruden had one more ring than anyone currently on the Cowboys. It was obviously an incorrect statement on your part and I made light of that. Parcells rings have nothing to do with the Cowboys past being that he picked them up with the G-men. In fact the only one bringing up the past is yourself, talking about the Cowboys winning the superbowl while you were in college. In sports fans have a "what have you done for me lately attitude". That said, the Bucs 1 superbowl win is ancient history as well.

I was in high school when the Bucs picked up theirs, talk about ancient history. Talking smack about Bill Parcells who BUILDS TEAMS, not just ride them to a ring(ala Gruden in Tampa Bay, and nearly doing the same in Oakland). Parcells remade the Giants, Pats, Jets, and is working on the Cowboys. More than Gruden can claim. Hell, Gruden couldn't even handle a big mouthed Keyshawn Johnson. Now, he has a QB with a mans' intials tattooed on his leg. Yeah. I'd rather play for Parcells ANYDAY.

    Wha-wha-what?

Gruden 'rode' the Raiders, and he didn't rebuild them into a winner? Are you serious?

Raiders were 4-12 the year before Gruden got there, his first year he turned them up to 8 wins, 8 wins, then 12 wins just 3 short years after the raiders lost 12. You're out of your mind if you think Gruden 'rode' the raiders to 12 wins, and didn't coach them there.

<< <i> Hell, Gruden couldn't even handle a big mouthed Keyshawn Johnson. >>

He sure did handle him. Sat him down. Are you going to say that Andy Reid couldn't even handle big mouthed TO?

  • Is TO still in Philly? Exactly, Andy Reid couldn't control TO.

I am waiting for you to reply to your lack of insight on Gruden's career in Oakland.

Did he or did he not turn around a franchise that was miserable, take them with a 'tuck rule' of back to back super bowl appearances?
  • lol. I'm pretty sure the free agent acquisitions made the biggest difference, not the leadership of Coach Gruden. It's not like Rich Gannon was THAT important to the success of the Raiders? You also forget that the former Offensive coordinator(hm..Callahan) led the Raiders to the Super Bowl right? NOT Gruden. In fact, the Raiders never made it to the Super Bowl with Gruden at the helm. So that stat of 'near' back to back Super Bowl appereances really doesn't hold weight as Gruden didn't even lead the Raiders to ONE.

I'm a huge fan of Grudens, but he didn't lead the Raiders to a Super Bowl did he?

I'd have to say...No on that one. Maybe you missed it. Like Baltimore laying the smackdown on your Bucs.

You're a mindless idiot if you honestly think that Gruden is anything short of a great coach.

Can you tell me if Gannon was playing for Gruden his first year when he took a 12 loss Raiders team and coached them to a .500 record? Uhm, no. And can you tell me what Gannon's career best yardage and TD's were BEFORE playing for Gruden? Hmm lemme see here:

2300 yards in 1998, and 16 TDs in 1990 (to go with his 16 INT's that year). His FIRST year in Oakland, he threw for 3800+ yards and 24 TDs. Gruden had no part of that? Are you sure?

As far as your mindless trolling about Callahan 'led' the Raiders to the super bowl, then it surely was Gruden (and not Dungy) who led the Bucs to the super bowl. You can't have it both ways. You can't say it was Callahan who led the Raiders to the super bowl, then try to say how Gruden took Dungy's team to the big game. One way or the other tough guy. Either Gruden gets credit for Oakland going, or for TB.

Like I said, he was a tuck rule away from beating new england and going to the AFC championship game.

It's painfully obvious you know even less about football than you do about baseball.

I'm sorry those facts confused you.

I'll speak in simpler words so the dense can understand them:

The raiders stunk prior to Gruden's arrival, they went from 12 losses to 8, to 4 in a 3 year span under his watch. He took a nothing QB and turned him into a pro bowler at 34 years old.

  • Yet gruden was a one hit wonder where is he doing now? He came in with a flash and went out just as fast.
