My wife is a sweetie!

She went out to the card store today to pick some penny sleeves up for me. She came back with a nice little surprise. Its kinda cool. I have never seen a card like this before. Its appr. a 1/4" thick. I wonder if its gradeable?

I know BGS grades cards that thick, and I believe PSA just started doing it as well...

    Matt,

Sorry to have to disappoint you, but clearly the front of the card has been trimmed, as it is about 1/8 inch smaller than the back. I'm guessing PSA won't grade it.

But it's still a sweet card. I'm surprised that Upper Deck made a patch card of a common running back though.

Your wife sounds like a keeper - that's the sweetest thing a woman can do for a man. Or the second sweetest thing....

Not really worth the grading fee even if gradeable as it only books for $15. Patch Collection was a really cool concept when announced but eventually flopped when collectors actually got to see it...

    Neat cards anyway though.

Thanks! I was browsing ebay last night and found the same exact card for buy it now $3.99. I hated to show her, but I did. She paid $14.00 for the card. You know how women love to catch sales or deals. Needless to say she wasnt very happy. I think I ruined her night image

Next time I will just keep my mouth closed

Tabe, to a Master player set registry collector this is one of those cards that you definitely want to have graded. Especially since hardly anyone else aside from some of the big submitters (DSL, 4SC, etc) would send in. So, that it "only books for $15" is not applicable in this case.

I understand what you mean, but us player collectors are always lookin' for those wacky oddball cards no matter what the value to get graded and add to our sets. image
