Oywoofus! Auction pics didn't do this one justice!

This one was admittedly a gamble, but part of the draw was that I REALLY like old-style ANACS holders in 66 and above. In my opinion, ANACS is more conservative than either NGC or PCGS at that level, at least based on the 4-5 pieces that I have. In my opinion the coins I've seen in 66-68 (at least amongst business strikes; cannot speak for proofs) would cross at a point higher or more.
This coin is a Saint Thomas 20 Centavos, 1929. ANACS MS66.
First the auction pics. As usual, a flatbed scanner does a really crappy job:

Now my pics. Pale gold crossing through a thin band of violet to a lovely steel blue around the periphery on both sides. Nice die cracks too!

The only consolation is that the 10 cent looked just about as nice and was $20 cheaper.

Well I couldn't buy them all!
Actually, I'd seen the 10c, but (1) as I previously mentioned I trust ANACS more than NGC at this grade level, (2) even with the poor auction pics this one looked like it had more potential (also if you compare auction descriptions), and (3) the mintage of the 20 centavos is half that of the 10 centavos.

I think the 10 cent has a higher attrition rate, because I see about the same numbers of both. The biggest problem I've seen with BU specimens is a weak strike similar to the problem with Walking Liberty halves. I've got a raw 20 cent which probably won't go higher than 63 because it's got a flat strike.
Shows the importance of having good photos when selling!

And, well you should, generally anyway. Exceptional coin and nice images too.
