I haven't done FB in quite awhile - I'm thinking about a 2006 product ---- Topps vs Topps Chrome vs Topps Heritage.
Any opinions as to what could offer a better bang for the buck?.....or could be most popular? I'm not looking to get rich, but maybe sell an auto or rookie or something to help pay for the box.
How does Heritage FB sell?
Thanks for the opinions all!

I fear that is the 100% correct advice.
60 scratch-off lottery tickets are just as much fun (for me),
and quite often I will scratch a good one.

You can pick up a hobby box of Score (36 packs, 8 cards per pack) for about $20 at a show. Rookies are 1 per pack (not SPed), and there is 1 glossy parallel per pack (so expect that you'll get about 5 glossy rookies in a box). 55 rookies are included in the set.
Serial #ed parallels run at least 6 per box, and there are randomly inserted autos (I got 1 in 5 boxes)
There are also Hot Rookies inserts (figure about 4 per box of the 10-card insert set), with glossy parallels and serial #ed parallels available of these too.
My highlights from my boxes were the auto (Jim Sorgi), Reggie Bush, Maurice Stovall, and DeAngelo Williams #ed Hot Rookies (Bush #/600 and Stovall and Williams #/750), Tomlinson #/120 and #/750, Favre #/600, and P. Manning #/750. I averaged over 7 #ed parallels per box.
Collation within a box is very good.

<< <i>This is my first post here, but I agree with kingraider in that topps chrome is probably the best set out of the three you mentioned. As a related question, does anyone here know if they plan on releasing a Bowman Chrome edition this year? I haven't been able to find any info out on them if they are. >>
Yes, Bowman Chrome comes out around 12/26/06. One of the last products released, after even SPA but before Contenders (I think).
SPA is going to be hot this year, it's almost $150 a box already to reserve it. I used to be a big fan of the regular rookies from Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome, but they never sell for anything on Ebay. Even in PSA 10 grade, I'm lucky to get $10 for anything but the top two or three rookies a season. I prefer Contenders and SPA, but you can really get shafted by either one (i.e. a box with absolutely nothing of value in it).
Interesting side note. I recently bought a few rack cases of 2006 Topps Football. I really only bought them because I haven't seen rack packs in awhile and the product wasn't that expensive. As I was ripping the 3 pack racks, one of the packs would have old Topps cards. They randomly inserted cards from the 60's, 70's, and 80's into the packs (normally 3 vintage cards per rack). The years I was getting were 89 (I know crap), 80, 81, 82, 83 and 85. No big deal since I wasn't expecting the older cards. What surprised me though were many of the cards were gradeable. I'm not talking PSA 7 or 8, but PSA 9 to 10 quality
Now I haven't pulled any big RC's, but the fact that the cards were in such good condition really surprised me. Good fun for the money.
I am glad I only bought one Rack pack. First it was a card short, second my three vintage 80's card were far from gradable, third the price was unreal (bought for MSRP).
