Ahh, the dreaded " we'll get em next year "

Barndog, are you getting ready for the Yankee icon ? The one you have now is soo close...just add some red stripes to that hat and you're ready to go image

I'd rather drive a hot poker through my eye!

I don't expect a lot out of the Sox next year, but at least they won't be more than a game back after the opener! They have some issues to address in the offseason if they hope to contend within a couple of years, no doubt.

It's not as bad as a lot of Boston fans are making it out to be. But, changes indeed will be made.

you'd figure $120 million would get you a better team, so I think it is pretty bad considering the investment of $

Gad, they started Tavarez again today. When's the last time the regular rotation started?

Tavarez has been their best starter as of late! What a freaking joke the team (should I write "team" instead?) has turned into.

Well, how much worse can it get then being in first place by four games in July and then having your pitching staff completely collapse, do nothing at the trade deadline, watch the very good players you have left yo yo in and out of action with various injuries (I hope Lester and his family pulls through with healthy souls all around), and witness the much heralded prospects from the farm implode ? Things could not possibly get worse this season but the chances are certainly there for next season.

Jerry ...... if nothing else you are a fan through and through to say "its not so bad" image Ya know what? Have another my fine Sox friend image

Guess I am the eternal optimist, Dan - years of rooting for the Sox will do that to you. But I agree, I haven't seen many seasons where everything fell apart so quickly and completely like this one. Until very recently, I still thought the wild card was possible - but not when we can't beat the Royals without a tremendous effort.

I think the Sox have the abilities to finish out of second place for the first time in a long while.
