1959 St. Louis Cardinals postcard set

I just won a 1959 St. Louis Cardinals postcard set that appears to be in very nice condition. ebay ID #140025746908. The owner stated it be to be from the 1960's but after doing a little research I found out that it is actually from 1959. It includes a Stan Musial and a rookie Bob Gibson. The owner informed me that that there are no creases or bends on any of the cards. I plan on submitting a few to PSA for grading.

Any thoughts? Did I pay too much?

I think you did well. The cards look unused and in ex-mt condition, maybe better. The white borders will make it easier to get good grades.

Good catch - you're probably right about '59, since Essegian was acquired by the Dodgers in mid-season, so he wouldn't have been included in a 1960 set. Too bad - you missed the tallboy special by one year (unless you just submit them as 1960....)! Still a very good acquisition. Congrats.

Yeah, I know I miss out on the tallboy special by only one year. However, if it was a 1960 set then I wouldn't have a Gibson card in his rookie year.

This is where I was able to determine the year of this set. Really nice. I wish I could find something like this for Cincinnati Reds issues.
