Penn State versus Notre Dame

Dam this is a painful post but I don't think this game is setting up well for Penn State. Notre Dame I believe was looking past that game last week to this game, and are po'd about moving down in the polls with a lot of negative talk about them not deserving to be there. They've got a big chip on their shoulder and that's not good for any opposing team in a game like football.

Plus Joe Pa was quite jubilant at a recent pep rally - Joe traditionally has always been jubilant when his team isn't good enough to build them up so to speak - Joe gets subdued when his team is good I guess to not get them overconfident.

Plus I don't like that betting line of Penn State the dog at +8. That's a classic suck in line by the bookies needing to get equal money on Penn State because of course it's a point over a touchdown and one point conversion.

You can't make money betting against bookies because nobody can possibly know how the ball is going to bounce to beat the spread giving up juice, but I believe Penn State is going to need some bigtime breaks in this game such as at least a few Notre Dame turnovers, with no turnovers from Penn State - otherwise this game could get away from Penn State - and I'll be very VERY happy if I'm incorrect.

    STEVEK notredame is way OVERRATED!!! just like the EAGLES! so no worries here!

    well to be serious im worried about PSU... but my heart says they will win!

    Dam we had a good run last season didn't we? Would love to see it happen again! I love my Eagles and Phils, but Penn State football will always be #1 for me. I'll be nervous as heck all game. If we can stay close going into the 4th quarter I think we'll have a good chance.

    In 2 months both of the teams will be trying to get back into the top 10. A nice matchup now, but it won't matter either way. Just move
    out of the way..the Noles are coming!

    You will see a different Notre Dame team today, their week 1 performance was against a GT team that is a lot better than most people realize. Penn State will lose.

    Notre Dame looked real good today.

    Goes to show you can never put too much stock in the first game of the season.

    BTW, Skip, does it ever get old being not only a foolish, know nothing, but also the resident rat ?

    My hats off to Notre Dame on a nice win. I have no "complaints" at all about the game. I still think though that Penn State has a decent shot by the end of the season to be a top 15 type team with a chance at pulling some upsets.

    Many so-called "fans" could take a lesson from stevek on graciousness in defeat. ND was geared up for this home opener. They are far better than FSU, that's for sure!
