Oh lord, what a gas! Newsflash to Kevin: Philly will be fortunate to even make the playoffs as the pathetic .500 wildcard team and once there will get rightfully bounced (if they're even fortunate enough to meet the mighty METS)!

Also, how can a guy who despises the Eagles root so hard for the Phillies??? Just don't understand you guys who live in one state and root for other teams all over the nation. image

Ask the Mets who they don't want to play...Im guessing the aren't going to say the Cards or the Dodgers. I don't need to tell
you the history of these .500 wild card teams...you can just look at their rings.

Remember, what you did in the regular season means squat. You start 0-0 in the playoffs. I think the Phils can beat the Mets right
    now.

He is amazing. I figured we had another Richie Allen type hitter on the team and I would have been very happy with that. But it seems we've got a Babe Ruth type hitter, and I'm almost not kidding.

    Go Phillies!!!!!

Mets, Smets! They are overconfident. Lookout if the Phils get into the playoffs!

Phillies beating the Mets??? That's a good one! Thanks for the laugh! image Doubt, though, Philly will even get to the postseason anyway.

The Phillies just need to get there first, and then it is a brand new start. With the caliber of teams in the NL, the Phils/WC team could reach the series.

Honestly I hope he hits 74, eventually. It would be very good for baseball and erase a lot of question marks.

He's certainly hitting the ball a ton, but what question marks would it erase? Considering the known rampant use of steroids in baseball, isn't it possible that Howard has also used them at some point in his career? The term "clean player" seems to be a joke as nobody but the players themselves actually knows who didn't use them. Again, not trying to put a wrench in the gears here but I just think that it's naive to assume considering all that has been documented in the way of steroid use in baseball as of late.

With that being said, it's apparently certain that Bonds did use them so if someone ever tops 73, it's not a bad thing in my opinion.

    Babe Ruth type hitter?

Let's let the kid have more than a good year before we bring up baseball's all time best player into the conversation.

Don't get mad because I called out your statement...let's not forget it was *you* who brought up the Ruth comparison.

Howard should win the MVP handily, even if the phils fail to make the playoffs. He's singlehandedly kept that team in the playoff hunt even after management wrote off the season.

The mets' players were expected to excel and have tons of protection that Howard isn't afforded.

Ax, do you still believe Ortiz is a "lock" for the AL MVP?
