Topps Football wax box question?

Hello All,

The question I have is what will give me the most bang for my buck out of a 1983, 1985, or 1987 Topps Football wax box right now? I have them just sitting here and just reading about the pending 1975 mini pack bust got me itching to open something. I know the 85's are just brutal finding in high grade especially in a wax box. Is it even worth opening a wax box of this stuff? Anybody out there had any luck? Does anyone even collect the 83's or 87's? Any advice would be appreciated. If you need commons from whatever year I open let me know and I would be willing to trade them for 2006 Heritage Baseball or Allen and Ginter's.

    Mark if it was me I would open the 83 topps football, just for the allen RC, but bang for the buck would be 85, but as you stated rough year for wax. Rip the 83. stay away from the 87 heh heh. been itching to open something myself, have a 79 FB box but not much of anything else. Good luck which ever you decide!image

    The 79's have been heating up. Some of the Steeler commons have gone thru the roof.

    I know you didn't metion it, but I think the 1982 wax box is a good value. The price is around $100 and you have the Lott, L. Taylor and A. Munoz rookies and Peyton, 2nd year Montana, etc. You also have some nice in-action shots of the players. I just opened two boxes. I pulled a lot of nice commons, Montanas, etc. The Taylors were brutal. The Lott and Munoz were very nice.

    I agree. I also love the 82 design. I ripped one about a month ago and enjoyed it very much. That Montana card is a b1tch!

    I opened a box a couple of years ago. Doesn't the Montana have print flaws? I believe the two I got did even though they had nice centering and corners. Anyone want 82 commons to trade?
