    Your link does not work-
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Last week I asked about a 34 goudey and somebody pointed out that the dot pattern in the letters was different than the dot pattern in the card if it was real and it might be the same in a reprint. If you can do a real high resolution scan of just a small part of the card it's possible that might tell you.

Also not sure if it will help but they had me hold it up to a bright lite and if the light shines thru = fake.

    If it's yours I hope it's real!

That water stain on the back looks like others I've seen from that era. I'm not sure that's something that could be easily faked. I think it could be real. Then again, I'm no expert on cards from that era.

  • the card on the left looks covered in dot matrix patterns...look at the green on the shirt..it's not a consistant color...nor is Thorpe's face...and the black on the bottom is dotted as well...it's not solid.

Looks like a new card that someone tried to make look old...

5STAT is on the mark, the card on the left is a scan of a real one, or perhaps a printout of a hires scan of a real one, affixed to (proably incorrect card stock) and "aged" in an attempt to deceive.
