Autograph question...........

I have several signed baseballs in a display case in one of our upstairs rooms. I have noticed the signatures on 2 or 3 of these fading over the last several months. We live in Texas, where it is hot and humid and during the summer our upstairs temperature is almost 80 degrees. Would that be a possible cause of the fading signatures on these balls?

Thanks,

Ron

I don't think signatures fade due to 80 degree temperatures. Are they exposed to direct light of any sort? In my experience, that's what fades signatures.

Light will fade them, try to put them under a shelf or something

  • I've read where Sharpie autos fade easiest on leather. Perhaps it's the oil or tanning of the leather. Keep out of the sunlight (even indirect), store in a cooler and not humid place and good luck. I use a cheap Sears tool box with desicants tossed in.
