First Outing...

Well, for the first outing I dont think I did half bad. S

Spent a couple hours in a local baseball park.

Total $1.55 in common change. 2 quarters found side by side... and a pretty cool first... a 5 coin honey hole. A dime, a Nickle and 3 pennies.

  • Yeah. I really like the way the Ace 250 is so simple. I had a lot of problems up here in Minneapolis with the Nickel icon. Every time It hit... it was an old pop tab. I got used to the sparatic hits vs the good ones... but I finally just deleted the Nickel and had it ignore that signal.

Just remember...some Gold falls into the same area as pull tabs--- ie: small rings image

  • the very first day i detected was august 2 1986. i actully kept a data log during the first few weeks. back then i was amazed how i could locate stuff in the ground. seemed like everything was cool, even junk. here is my first day:

    1 1895 indian cent, 9 memorials, 1 quarter, 1 nail, 1 combo lock and 1 copper tube.

  • lol... Im not keeping track of trash... but heres my plan...

Anything not of modern change will be carded, dated, location, ect... in 2x2's, and put in a book. I will put all modern change into my 5 gallon change jar where the rest of my change goes... but I will keep a written track of how much I do find... and keep it running... so years from now... I know how much I have found $ wise.
  • well i checked my old binder. turns out, i kept track on paper till around 1992. that was when i left to tour the world with the marine corps. anyway, kept track of everything including locations. it sure is interesting to see my old notes from 20 years ago.
  • hahaha... I just got back from touring the world with the Marine Corps. Its been fun... thats for sure...
