1821 George IV Coronation Medal

Cannot find anything on this medal in my references, the portrait looks suspiciously like the work of Pistricci (Waterloo Medal).

  • The building is the High Cathedral in Cologne, Germany. For more information about it, try >>here<<, fficial">>>here<<, or any of Google's 3-million+ fficial">>>other hits<<.

  • Something is haywire and when I try to edit my prior post I get an error message. The links all work, it's just that the text is screwed up. image

I have the Cathedral of Cologne medal in White Medal. These do show up on eBay with some frequency.

I believe that they were made to celebrate the completion of the Cathedral in 1880 - the building was started in 1248

I also fell in love with the medal the first time I saw it.

Hmmm interesting, I can't seem to add any emoticons to this post????
