    Maybe he was having some bangers just before the pic. Pretty typical from what I heard; it is a wonder any coins survive anywhere near true mint state condition.image

    Looks like a 1919 to me.

    But it doesn't really matter how that particular coin is handled, does it? That's awfully yellow-looking for a bronze halfpenny. I reckon it's been gilded.
