Second Chance Offer situation

A very cheap item...I bid 1.00 but the bid remained at only a penny...next high bidder is 1.05 not long before the auction ends. Not even a day later I am getting a second chance offer because the buyer supposedly backed out. Did I get screwed here? Should I just not take it based soley on principal? Because if I got boned by the seller then screw him, I'll get the item somewhere else.

Edited to add that the seller has decent feedback too.

  • It depends on if the item is worth $1 to you.

Bu then I usually save my anxiety for decisions that are important. If someone needs to scam me for $1, then I figure they need the $1 more than I do. I would never miss it...

LOL no, no anxiety...but I certainly dont like being messed with like that.

I get your point on how much is that 1 dollar worth to you. In most cases I feel the same way...just dont like the feel of this one.
  • my time cost me more than a dollar to write this reply...

    forget about it...it's a card!!!
  • thats a pretty sad seller if he's schill bidding to make a nickle
  • Maybe the seller has 100's of the cards, and thinks you might want it. For $1 this a lot of time to worry about it.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I agree with Kingraider. The guy has a bunch of them for sure. Good luck and I hope you don't think about everything with such detail. Save some energy for the bigger ticket things!

P.S. I don't advocate lying but I think you should have pretended it was a ten dollar or 100 dollar item.
