So I got my first neg on ebay...

Okay, so I haven't got any payment from this buyer after a month, I even e-mailed him 10 days after the auction ended about the payment. So I neg him and he negs me back claiming he has sent payment. He also have filed a complaint with ebay threaten me with internet fraud charge. WTF? How can I mail the item if I hadn't got any payment. Well, I checked his feedback, and he has 80 neg's over the past month. And many of his positive come from repeat buyers. Personally, I don't care about the retalority feedback. His ebay id is nickboor2caj. I also notice similar messages from those that neg'd him.

He might agree to a mutual withdrawal, after a little time passes.

He has been NEGd by 14 different folks, and he has a ton of POS, too.

Based on the comments he leaves, he is not the kind of seller I
would do biz with. Seems to play a bit loose on the delivery confirmation
front, but does not seem to be a crook.

It may be that he thought you pulled the trigger on the NEG a bit
    quick and he got mad.

A lot of very experienced sellers have determined that it is not worthwhile
to leave NEGs first for NPBs. They file the claim, get their FVF back, and
wait to see what the buyer does on the FB issue. NPBs will usually just
lurk off into the shadows if they do not get NEGd.

    eBay is the devil.

  • WHAT ???? Let it stay! Why remove a negative given to someone that should have received it for ANY reason !!!! Your suggestion results in the eBay feedback system to be of less value than it already is !image

Not to defend deadbeat-ism, but did you try to call the guy before negging him?

  • Did you file your UPI?? That is 1000 times more important than the neg. The reason he is still on there is because people have not filed those. Ebay does not care how many negs you have as long as your total does not reach (-4). Three UPIs filed and he is removed from Ebay.

Just a little advise on future listings. Take the part about accecpting cash out of your listings. Ebay will pull your auctions if someone reports you for that. A rule that went into effect in February is that sellers may not solicit cash for items sold unless the item is to be picked up.

    1. If a buyer doesn't pay he should be neg'ed. A filing of UPI should be done BEFORE negative feedback left.

    2. This seller does have 85 negatives left for him actually in the last FOUR months, but 68 of them came from one buyer!!!

    3. Tracking down a phone number and calling seems a bit much when filing a UPI would do.

    4. Buyers attitude with threatening internet fraud is way over the top.

  • Buyers attitude with threatening internet fraud is way over the top.

For a 5.00 item at that. First he has to prove you even got the payment, if he cannot do that he has nothing to stand on period. Then to get anyone to look at it over 5.00 is going to be a longshot. In other words he is just blowing smoke.

  • << <i>unfortunatly guys like this never go away. I have 34 negs but over 1700 positives most negs were from idiots just like the one you dealt with always pulling the trigger early. this is why the topic comes up why do sellers wait to leave feedback. heres the answer. >>

Wow, you have horrible feedback. You've been accussed of doing a few things as well. Pack searching, cashing checks 5 months after no product received by customer. Sounds like the negs may have been deserved?

It is unlikely that any suggestion to resolve a conflict could have
any negative impact on the totally broken FB system.

Communication is, in part, the key to avoiding eBay conflicts.
In the OP's deal, it seems such communication was missing
    until the problem had escalated.

Any one can get NEGd. You can do everything right, and still
get NEGd. You can do terrible things, and still get POS FB.
If tempers flare and NEGs are exchanged, there is absolutely
no reason that peace cannot be made and the NEGs mutually
    withdrawn.

FB is particularly important to good sellers. That is yet another
reason for them not to be in a hurry to NEG a buyer when the
buyer claims "lost mail." It is not relevant whether such buyers
are telling the truth or not; hair-trigger NEGs seldom result in
    anything other than retal-NEGs.

The advice for sellers to go slow on the NEG-trigger is logical,
valid, and in their self-interest to abide.

  • Did you check out the buyer's negative feedback? Another e-bayer, picolin2, left that guy 58 feedbacks! One e-bayer -- 58 negatives. That's gotta be a record!

  • , this has been the worst run of my luck on ebay. I got 2 NARU's and 9 non payers, so far 3 retalitory negs.
Okay, Morrelman, I wait 10 days. If I don't get it I usually e-mail the buyer and remind that person. So far, it's been more than 2 weeks for most of those person- enough time to get a reply.
Wizardguildcards - is there a link from ebay that I can use a UPI? I still have 5 people still not paying, but I'll wait until the end of the week if I don't get payment.
I mean, I did everything, used the checkout process and remind that person after a certain period of time, but there's all us sellers can do. I mean, I can't control the mail and have no control if it gets lost in the mail.
What do you think about this: Some buyers said that they'll resend another check or MO. hstorynfball will be willing to remove neg feedback. But I looked at his feedback, and he's got 10 negs in the past year and 4 in the most 6 months. Also, I noticed that most of his feedback have been withdrawn mutually. Should I give nickboor2caj an offer for me to withdraw the feedback, if he sends another check/MO? It may seem to be like it maybe my fault on my part BUT I'm willing to put all this drama behind me. And I usually don't use ebay as much anymore, so I don't really care about a perfect score or anything like that.
