    The news reports say it is treatable. He won't be pitching again for a while, but the important thing is that he will likely get through this.

    Damn. I had a feeling those reports were accurate yesterday. As mentioned, the good news is that it's treatable, and they caught it in plenty of time to begin the treatment effectively.

    Lost my step dad of almost 40 years from this disease. A lot of it depends on how soon they caught it. My dad died within 5 months of the diagnosis. Its nothing to gloss over as treatable, however I also have a friend who has been cured of it. Good luck to him.
